My photo of Hook Lighthouse – the December image of my Ireland 2017 Calendar – was taken shortly after sunset when the sky turned into red. I had chosen a suitable point of view, had my camera mounted on the tripod and waited until the light developed as I hoped for. This shot was exposed for three and a half minutes.
