This photo of the harbour on Rathlin Island was taken on one of the hottest days of summer 2018.
Luckily, I had a meeting with a client in Ballycastle the night before my trip, and I told him about my plans to explore Rathlin by foot the next day. He directed the conversation towards the exceptionally hot weather and, incidentally, sun protection. “Sun blocker is sold out!” I promptly replied to him, as I had already checked several shops along the Antrim coast for it. The heat wave of 2018 was on.
The next morning, I was told at the reception desk of my hotel that a little something had been dropped off for me: Sun blocker! Already opened, factor 50! The situation was a little strange, as sun blocker is obviously not deposited that often at Northern Ireland’s hotel receptions. 😉
Anyway, this amazing gift made my day.
