Only a few years ago, the ruins of Dunlough Castle at Three Castle Head were a hidden gem. Nowadays, if you go for a hike over the hills at the north-western tip of the Mizen Peninsula, you will hardly find yourself alone in the open countryside – even though the way is not signposted and the castle can only be approached by foot. Nevertheless, this corner of West Cork has preserved its unique charm. Because the scenery out here “at the end of the world” is simply breathtaking.
