Looking east at Torr Head, you can see the Scottish Mull of Kintyre at the horizon. The headland in County Antrim is the closest point to Scotland in Ireland.
When I took my photo – the cover image and October image of the Ireland 2019 calendar – I photographed south across the small harbour of Portaleen along the coast of County Antrim. Actually, this beautiful part of Ireland would have deserved its own verse in Johnny Cash’s “40 Shades of Green”.
